a collection of On-Chain Assets on the Cardano Blockchain.
What is “On-Chain”?
Many asset publishers describe their collections or individual assets as being “on-chain” because there is some component of these publciaitons that utilize blockchain.
However, On-Chain Assets are a particular type of Native Asset on Cardano whose media & information is stored directly on the Cardano Blockchain. In other words, it does not rely on IPFS or other external file-storage solutions to host the majority, or all, of its media.
Native Assets on Cardano have a size limit of 16kb. Nevertheless, a number of creative and innovative individuals have utilized this medium to push the boundaries of what can fit inside a single asset on Cardano.
